Senior Consultant, Facilitator or Trainer

Hours: Full-Time (40 hours per week)

Location: Washington, DC, with anticipated domestic travel

Project Overview

WI-HER seeks the services of an experienced Senior Consultant, Facilitator or Trainer for a potential project intended to improve the effectiveness of the management, team leaders, and staff at a partner Federal Land Management Agency (FLMA). We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Consultant to provide expert guidance and consulting services in program management, executive coaching, teambuilding, organizational development, leadership development, and communications strategy.

Position Objectives

The consultant’s services will be required over a period of 12 months, with option years possible. The consultant is responsible for providing organizational development services, including strategic planning and implementation, change management, performance and process improvement, team development, retreat design and facilitation, and training solutions.

Tasks will include:

  • Interview key stakeholders for input on specific objectives for retreats, and relay findings to management.
  • Provide high-level coaching to senior leadership, leveraging expertise in leadership development and organizational dynamics to support growth and effectiveness at the executive level.
  • Conduct individual and team assessments as a certified assessment administrator.
  • Facilitate team-building initiatives to enhance collaboration, communication, and performance within the organization.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of the FLMA mission to drive visioning and strategic development at the headquarters level.
  • Support the integration of organizational goals with overarching FLMA objectives.
  • Craft original communications materials to support the Assistant Director (AD) and Deputy Assistant Director (DAD) of the Program.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans to foster cultural integration and promote the program’s vision, mission, and goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent and ten (10) years of relevant experience, with a minimum three (3) years of experience managing the development of training programs.
  • Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Previous experience working with or within a FLMA, such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service or U.S. Department of Agriculture.
  • Expertise in individual assessment tools such as Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Everything DiSC 360°, Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQi), FranklinCovey All Access Pass, Conflict Dynamics Profile, Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI) etc.
  • Expertise in professional development, leadership training, and facilitation.
  • Demonstrated experience with knowledge management systems and instructional design.
  • Superior writing and communication skills, with the ability to develop strategic communications plans and create compelling content for leadership.
  • Proficiency in French or Spanish is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in leadership coaching or similar professional credentials, such as ICF, CTI, etc.
