WI-HER is seeking the services of consultants to design and execute a new technical assistance (TA) and capacity building program aimed at improving the services and well-being of the LGBTQIA2S+ child welfare and prevention community. The consultant’s services will be required over a period of 12 months, and will provide TA and/or capacity building services for the partner organization including:

  • Training child welfare agency staff on different approaches to collecting data on sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression (SOGIE)
  • Leading multidisciplinary teams of Information Technology and child welfare staff to develop protocols, policies, and IT to collect data on SOGIE children, youth, young adults, and families.
  • Assessment of organizational capacity and readiness assessment on SOGIE, including training and coaching that supports accurate assessment and opportunity for improvement.
  • Assistance to jurisdictions to implement child- and family-level interventions related to SOGIE.
  • Support to implement foster parent training and coaching regarding SOGIE.
  • Support to the workforce to collect SOGIE data and support effective service provision across case planning and permanency for LGBTQIA2S+ children, youth, and young adults.
  • Other services as needed to support child welfare system partners, such as the legal and judicial community, for SOGIE support.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 5 years work experience.
  • At least 3 years related to working with organizations/ agencies supporting the LGBTQIA2S+ community.
  • Experience working with the Department of Health - Administration for Children & Families (ACF) preferred.
