Proposed Scope of Work for IT Specialist in Data Modeling and Simulation

This scope of work outlines the responsibilities and expectations for an IT Specialist specializing in data modeling and simulation within our consultancy firm.

Objective:

The primary objective of this role is to utilize expertise in data modeling and simulation to support various consultancy projects, enabling data-driven decision-making in formulation and implementation of strategic plans; policy planning and analysis; and business and financial process and reengineering to meet strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Modeling:

  • Develop and maintain data models that accurately represent the organization's information needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
  • Implement best practices for data modeling, ensuring consistency, integrity, and scalability of data structures.

Simulation Modeling:

  • Design and build simulation models to analyze complex systems, processes, and scenarios.
  • Conduct simulation experiments to test hypotheses, evaluate alternatives, and optimize performance.
  • Integrate simulation models with data analytics tools to derive insights and inform decision-making.

Data Analysis and Visualization:

  • Utilize data analysis techniques to extract meaningful insights from structured and unstructured data sources.
  • Develop visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings and facilitate understanding for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Technical Support:

  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams on data modeling and simulation methodologies.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to data management, modeling tools, and simulation software.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in data modeling, simulation, and related fields.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Document data models, simulation workflows, and analysis results in clear and concise manner.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or related field.
  • Proven experience in data modeling and simulation,data collection technique, data analysis, and results presentations.
  • Skilled in identifying measures/metrics to determine success of the strategic plan moving forward.
  • Development of communication plans.
  • Proficiency in data modeling tools such as ERwin, ER/Studio, or similar.
  • Strong programming skills in languages like Python, R, SQL, etc.
  • Experience with simulation software such as AnyLogic, Simio, Arena, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.

Deliverables:

  • Data models for various business domains and applications.
  • Simulation models and experiments to support decision-making.
  • Data analysis reports, visualizations, and dashboards.
  • Documentation and technical reports on methodologies, findings, and recommendations.



Reporting Structure:

  • The IT Specialist will report to the Project Manager or Team Lead assigned to each project, providing regular updates on progress and issues.

Additional Information:

  • The IT Specialist may be required to travel occasionally for on-site client meetings or project engagements, depending on project requirements.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the management to support the overall objectives of the consultancy firm.

This Scope of Work is subject to revision based on specific project requirements and organizational needs.
